| The mysterious Kai was the leader of the Bladesharks, a group of Bladers whose aim was to defeat and capture weaker Blades. He was also the country's champion Beyblader. After being upstaged by Tyson in the tournament, Kai is selected as team leader of the Bladebreakers. He doesn't Blade too much in the first season, though. As a person, Kai is withdrawn and aloof. He usually separates himself from the rest of the Bladebreakers, and when the others are celebrating a victory he will watch with a look of indifference on his face. Kai is an extremely gifted Beyblader. His bitbeast is the phoenix Dranzer. Late in the season, Kai defects to the Demolition Boys after recalling his childhood in an old abbey in Russia, where scientists experimented on children and turned them into expert Beybladers. He is offered the powerful bitbeast Black Dranzer in exchange for rejoining the Biovolt Corporation, and accepts. He challenges the Bladebreakers, who convince him to rejoin the team. |
